#264 Vote for Me

Posted in Anime, Naruto Shippuden, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on June 4, 2013 by Lee T

Yo! I don’t usually post on Tuesdays, but I wanted to have a post just for this.

I submitted a design to the Naruto Shippuden Design Contest on a couple months ago and voting ends this Saturday so I’m running out of time!

Vote 5 so this awesome design can become an actual t-shirt you can buy from or even Hot Topic!

The only downside is that you have to make an account on the website to vote.

In other news,  the full and completed image of the Kyuubi Naruto made for my new banner has been uploaded to my deviantART gallery. Twice. It looks very different from the one used above, but hey, I am very proud of them. Check them out, leave a comment, tell me what you think.

And I will see you in the morning for Naruto chapter 633. You can follow me on Twitter where I will post a link to the chapter when it comes out. My chapter review will come about 12 hours afterwards.

Posted in Anime, Naruto Shippuden with tags , , , , , , , on May 4, 2013 by Lee T

Even though we thoroughly enjoyed the Korean dub of this movie, it is necessary to watch the movie in its intended quality and language. :)

Here are many links! Enjoy!

(links are rated from best quality to lowest quality. Hopefully the first link doesn’t break.)

Here is my review and rant blog post on the movie (even if it was only 3 blogs ago): Blog #252.

While we’re still on the topic of Naruto Shippuden, I entered a T-shirt competition on welovefine and I really hope I win. I would link you, but I can’t find my submission!

Here’s what it looks like.

This is the competition website. Rating starts May 8th. Help me find it and rate?

EDIT: Here’s the direct link to my submission. Now GO and make me proud.

#252 Menma Shippuden?

Naruto Shippuden movie 6 : Road to Ninja [watch here on YouTube]

So this is the Korean dub of this movie. Quite honestly, it’s not bad. Of course Naruto’s voice is annoying as hell (as it is in every language).
I apologize for the little Korean info bar floating in the video. Trust me, it bothers me as much as it bothers you, but there’s nothing I can do about it.

Too lazy to summarize, let’s get to the points I like!
Note: I write this while I’m watching it so I apologize if it gets confusing when I am foreshadowing.

Best. Freaking. Opening. Ever. Remake of Kyuubi battle from Yondaime’s perspective? Omygod. I can die happy now.

And of course, there’s the comical battle! I’ll talk about this later. I made my list of Naruto movie requirements 2 movies ago. Read that post here!

The scene after that is really bitter. Horribly bitter. There going through that whole “Naruto doesn’t have parents so let’s walk over the same parts of town” sequence. I’ve honestly seen this too many times in flashbacks, now Naruto in present time is walking through the same places his normal flashbacks usually take place, all ending at the park. Well, he goes to the park, then Sakura’s house, then back to the park. Oh, the park. Those two also blew up the park. Best. Date. Evah.

So “Madara” met the two and… Oh, screw it. I’m calling him Tobi.

Tobi put Sakura and Naruto in his genjutsu alternate world. Manga prologue said it would cater to Naruto’s wishes but it just looks like an f-ed up reality. I mean like, who the hell wanted Kiba to be a cat shaman?

N6 1Okay, I take it back. That is pretty darn cute.

And Naruto’s name is now Menma. This kinda flips my shit because there was another character (filler of course) called that and in that episode, Naruto actually went on a trip to get menma for the ramen man. (ps. the ramen man doesn’t have a name). I’m going to be super pissed if our protagonist is going to be called this the remainder of the movie.

I love this scene right here:
N6 2Notice how Sasuke almost shows interest.

N6 3Almost.

N6 4

Aaaaaaand it’s gone. Good ol’ Sasuke.

What twisted… teenager logic… Sakura’s parents are dead and the first thing she thinks of is freedom. Never saw Sakura as the rebellious type…

Naruto on the other hand, all the feelz go to him! This is a really sad movie for him! It actually makes sense that Naruto is really rejecting of all the feelz. He’s been a lone wolf his whole life he doesn’t know how to react to the familial bonds. He also is aware the world is fake and is set to make things the way they are. This theme is also carried out during the war. Naruto is our protagonist and it is his job to set things straight whether he likes it or not!

Sakura on the other hand is insensitive in every possible way. Usually the guy is in certain animes, but Sakura sure plays the part. A bit too well if you ask me.

And the safe?

N6 5

Again, they have this technology yet they can’t invent telephones?

Next scene!

N6 6

Everybody loves the badboy. Even the badboy himself! Who knew?

Back to the feelz.

The whole flashback of the day Naruto was born? Horribly placed. Who is having the flashback? It definitely isn’t Naruto! Pretty sure he was told the story, he did not witness any of this.

Oh, and there’s this.

N6 7

Totally didn’t copy that image from the manga.

naruto 503 1

Pretty pretty feelz. :3

So the ‘Naruto’ aka Menma of this world is all evil and stuff, wouldn’t Kushina and Minato know anything about this…? Maybe it’s like when Lisanna went to Edolas and the Elfman and MiraJane of that world pretended she was their sister…? What?

The whole Naruto riding on top of Kyuubi? Horrible. Same way Naruto gets a cool outfit when he went Sage Mode in Blood Prison. Absolutely horrible. Extremely flashy and convenient, but totally fake and made up.
What could have happened was that since Menma has the ability to split up the tails and use them as monsters, he could have the ability to summon the Kyuubi outside of his body. Naruto on the other hand would have to transform completely with the Kyuubi taking over his body. This information has already been established. You can’t change it! The newly introduced character could have all the snazzy new techniques because he is new. But noooo. They had to have plot convenience so the two can have a punch fight.

From a former animation student’s point of view, the Kyuubi’s run cycle is beautiful.

And then,

N6 8

What? How do those things even relate to each other? Well kinda but… what? He’ll still be able to move. Not in the right direction, but he’ll be able to move.

So Menma was possessed by an evil spirit? Did he die in the last scene? Why didn’t his parents notice he was gone nor recognize his techniques? Why did Tobi pull out chains to fight when he lost the physical body to fight? Where is the other world’s Sakura? So many plot holes!

And the man Menma kills in the beginning? Do you think he killed Tobi in that world?? That man was wearing all the Akatsuki rings. That’s probably why Tobi didn’t go to himself like we all expected.

Judging time!

It made me cry. Heck, it made Naruto cry too. First Naruto movie to make me really appreciate my life.

I heard that Kishimoto Misashi designed the characters and wrote parts of this movie so I guess I couldn’t expect any less, well except the Kyuubi part. That hopefully wasn’t him. There’s also a downside to the author’s hand in the movie. You can see it especially in the recent manga. He knows his story is coming to an end and he is cramming things in there that don’t really belong. What I’m saying is it looks like Kishimoto was never able to put parts in the story that he wanted to include so now he’s shoving them in as odd flashbacks and new information. I mean like, why would Sasuke and Itachi go on a hunting trip? Just saying it makes a lot more holes in the story. He wants to add more abstract detail, but there isn’t enough time to go full circle to let the view understand. For example in this movie, Menma was possessed in this movie that made his hair black. We don’t know why or when or how or even if it was necessary to show it dissipating away. Also the training ground that Jiraiya and Minato used.

On a more positive note, adding Sakura in was a genius move. There was somebody for Naruto to endure this challenge with rather than alone, even though he was alone in some parts. Sakura provided an extremely strong contrast as well when they switched lifestyles. Plus Sakura is rigidly selfish while Naruto is a tad bit more aware of other people’s emotions.

Naruto Shippuden Movie 6: Road to Ninja gets a whopping 5/5 for da feelz. Can’t go against da feelz.

N6 10All da feelz and more

It’s that time again! Time to find the things that make a Naruto movie a Naruto movie!

  1. Humorous intro battle
N6 11Might or might not be highly suggestive
  2. A damsel in distress
    N6 12Well, this is a first.
  3. A strange mysterious power
N6 13It’s like a little planet in your hand.
    N6 17He’s glowing purple!!!
    It’s evil! Run! Run!!
  4. Naruto goes Kyuubi
    N6 14
  5. Special Rasengan ending
N6 15It’s not that special. It was a reference to how Minato defeated Tobi, though.
  6. Strange technology
This one I added today. Every movie seems to have enemies with the craziest technology. I believe there were flying ninjas. You heard me, flying ninjas in Shippuden movie 2.

    N6 16Am I still in the same movie…?
  7. Evil henchmen
Another I added, but this goes for any action movie in existence. All bad guys have henchmen to carry out their dirty work or they wouldn’t be the bad guy!

    N6 18Is that a… seahorse?

That concludes my review of this movie. Kind of went screenshot crazy because I love making screenshots! Look! A baby fox!

N6 19

Sort of resembles what Naruto used to look like in the pilot chapter.

Naruto 0

Well resembles is a stretch, but it did remind me of it because they’re both so small and cute!

#247 Road to Ninja… I’m Waiting for Subs

Posted in Anime, Naruto Shippuden with tags , , , , , on March 18, 2013 by Lee T

Naruto Shippuden Movie 6: Road to Ninja RAW [watch here]

As much as I love watching raw movies, I’m going to wait this one out. It looks like it’s going to be a big drug trip of a movie especially since Kishimoto actually had a big hand in developing characters and such.

But here’s what I know about it through various sources:

It’s about Tobi (Obito) unleashing the “Moon’s Eye” thing for a little while on Konoha. His target is to grant Naruto’s heart’s wish: to be a little less lonely. This is all explained in Kishimoto’s Road to Naruto manga special. You can click here to read it.

This movie is also a sequel to the Blood Prison movie. That’s odd because movies usually have more connection to the anime than other movies.

All of the Akatsuki is still alive so I have no idea when this is supposed to take place in the plot. But heck, I don’t think it matters.

A lot of character’s personalities get flopped, but not Naruto and Sakura’s. Check out this image.

Naruto Movie specialClick to see full image

I flipped the image for convenience. So look. Everybody is completely opposite. Shikamaru is reading a book titled ‘Naruto’. That is probably breaking some sort of 4th wall. Naruto, Sakura, and Rock Lee looks exactly the same… and Sai isn’t even in the picture!! Oh, and there’s Sasuke. Of course, Naruto’s dream world is going to have his best friend in it.

Don’t forget Yondi is going to be in this movie! I mean Yondiame. I’m so used to calling him that. Don’t forget Kushina.
So Naruto’s going to see his parents in person. At the same time. With him. This is going to be good.

With all these reasons piling up, this is the reason why I won’t watch this movie in raw! I will watch it with completely coherent subs so I can enjoy every single aspect of this movie with all its awesomeness and surprises in one go! Suspension of disbelief.

So enjoy this movie. :) I will (ironically) try to avoid all spoilers coming my way until subs officially come out. Don’t spoil it for me! Naruto holds a very special place in my heart so don’t!

Hey everybody who’s anybody. I am making this post to officially say that I am no longer posting in this blog. Well I might if something worth ranting about comes up like Tobi’s jacked up back-story or if I want to write another Anime vs. Manga post.

The Ultimate Spoiler Attack Facebook page has been up for a while for a few people to stay updated for my blog posts. I will now use this page to have mini-rants when my favorite mangas update with a provided link. I will also be now using it to post my manga/anime screenshots that I extensively collect.

It’s obvious I have too many of these. I will allow posting on this page so others can share, too! SHARE YOUR FAVORITE ANIME AND MANGA SCREENSHOTS.

I usually take the ones of humorous aspect, but you make share your favorite heartwarming scenes as well.
And don’t worry about spoilers. This name is ULTIMATE SPOILER ATTACK for that sole reason. Spoil away!

I don’t know where this will be heading. It might explode to be some meme page, it might just be just me posting pictures all alone forever. Whatever happens, it will be fun. :)

#211 Looking Back to Naruto’s Beginning

Posted in Anime, Manga, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden with tags , , , , on June 12, 2012 by Lee T

Naruto chapter 1 : Uzumaki Naruto

I got a little sidetracked and started reading the first 4 chapters of Naruto manga again. I did this because of the episode I recently watched was 90% flashbacks and was so emotional and wondered if the series was really that emotional!

Conclusion: It is. O_o After Naruto’s speech about loneliness in episode 215, it made me really sad. Reading the first few chapters again made me even sadder. Let me report my findings.

Naruto spent the chapters more depressed than not saying things like “I don’t have anyone to go home to” and Iruka was actually a very harsh teacher. Well not extremely harsh, but he seemed to be a very good teacher. It’s like it’s the only thing he can do… You never see him go out on missions or anything.

Joekage is unnaturally short. Why?
Also, Chouza is unnaturally large. What?

There is also a very hilarious scene of Naruto knocking out the Joekage to get to the scroll of sealing. I wish that was in the anime! HILARIOUS!

If the Hokage was this easy to defeat,
it is no wonder why Naruto looked down to him so much.

There is also a very grim fact about this pilot. The ninjas who were ordered to capture Naruto agreed to kill him in fear that he would use the Scroll of Sealing to unleash the Kyuubi upon the village once more. The panel is shown above. Another depressing thing is that Naruto doubts Iruka’s love the entire fight until the moment before Mizuki throws the second shuriken saying to himself “I knew it, see? Even Iruka-sensei deep down doesn’t acknowledge me.”

I understand now why Naruto constantly mentions Iruka’s name in Shippuden episode 215. Iruka was the first person to acknowledge him! How touching. T_T

Naruto chapter 2 : Konohamaru

Next chapter feels extremely short compared to the entire episode that was made for it. I forget that Naruto has always been a weekly sometimes with 1 chapter punches like this.

I think it is hilarious to see the extremely passive Joekage next to the overly animated Ebisu. I also forgot about Joekage’s crystal ball where he watches Naruto’s every move. Wow, what a pedo.

Naruto never actually took Konohamaru to all the lady spas nor the magazine shops in town. They just hung out on the forest all day.

I also learned a valuable trait about Naruto. He is very observant of people’s emotions. Joekage says “When a person hates and doesn’t acknowledge someone’s existence, their eyes when they look at him … are, frighteningly cold.”

When Naruto meets Ebisu again, he thinks “Those eyes again…”
Something that was never used in the anime until in Shippuden filler episodes 176-178 where Naruto says this line constantly when he watches the villagers and especially Iruka-sensei.

Shippuden episode 215 took a lot of clips from filler episode 177.
Isn’t that odd?

In chapter 2 he seems to recognize the seriousness of Konohamaru’s dreams and tells him not to take any shortcuts to become the best. I noticed that Konohamaru is a pretty angry kid. He even has an angry face on his helmet!

Naruto chapter 3 : Uchiha Sasuke

His keen eye is also seen in chapter 3 when Team 7 is first established. He turns into Sasuke originally not to score with Sakura, but to understand how she really felt about Naruto. He also learns the reason why he likes Sakura is her same yearning for the acknowledgement of a certain somebody. This is also strongly portrayed in Shippuden episode 206 when Sakura pretends to confess to him. He picked up on the lie right away when he could have been blinded by his emotions.

I also feel, but not entirely sure, that Naruto is the type to not make awkward situations. I think that the only times he is in one is him doing it intentionally or when his ego gets in the way. I know because my ego makes me look like an idiot too. Anyways, the awkward character goes to Sai anyway.

The last thing I would like to point out is Sasuke’s reactions at the end of the chapter. Sakura goes on this rant where Naruto doesn’t have any parents, can do whatever he wants, and isn’t a normal kid. Sasuke gets really angry and ends the conversation with “You’re annoying,” very sternly. I can’t agree more.

I believe Sasuke thinks he understands Naruto better than Naruto understands about him.
I feel that is important somehow.

I saw a lot of chapter 3 being reciprocated in Shippuden episode 215. Kakashi is around, but almost uninvolved. Sakura is in the way and doing unnecessary things. Sasuke is selfish and extremely rude. Naruto trying to make things go in his favor but ultimately failing. That’s accurate, right?

I am starting to believe that this series is more thought out than we give it credit for.

I also suggest watching the Shippuden episodes 176-178. The pacing is completely off in these episodes but better than most fillers I’ve seen. They are the first 3 episodes of Shippuden, season 5.

I also made an fun icon a long time ago from episode 177…. It’s cute, no?

Plot Hole time:

3rd Hokage’s crystal ball. How does it work? Why is he the only one who has the power to use it? Why was it only used in episodes 1, 2, and 20?
Somebody tell me! Leave a comment!

#209 One War is Nearing its End While Another is Starting

Posted in Anime, Manga, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden on June 6, 2012 by Lee T

It’s finals week and I’m posting. I am so bad xD.

Naruto chapter 589 : The Edo Tensei Jutsu, Released [read here]

So Madara finally pulls out the big guns and he is going to dissipate anyway. I don’t see any Tsuchikage Oonoki heartbreaking anywhere though. Next chapter maybe?

And, oh wait. What’s this? Sasuke going back into character? That’s the emo boy we know and love. This guy is so messed up in the head all because of Itachi. As you can tell, I really don’t like this wimpy, stand-in-the-background Sasuke these countless chapters shown. I think he’s had some better sides like this one from Shippuden episode 215.

215 is the episode where Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi meet Sasuke again. I realized I never watched this episode… Why is there a 10 second scene with Kakashi and Sasuke skydiving off of a bridge? Nothing really happens other than them falling, looking at each other, and then safely landing on the river below. There’s also the awkward grabbing at the air from Sasuke. His arm is at his side, but his hand keeps grabbing at the air. What is wrong with this episode?

Anyway, I’m totally off topic. I just wanted to find this picture of Sasuke’s evil face.

I sure hope this -sshole comes back or I’m going to feel bad for him at the end like Light at the end of the Death Note anime.

Okay, back to the chapter >_<

His eyebrows went up. That must mean something.

Goodbyes are so sad.

And gawdangit! The first panel after Edo Tensei releasing is freaking KIMIMARU. We didn’t even get an epic fight probably because he has no emotional connection with anyone except Juugo. Wait, where did those 2 go? They found something in Orochimaru’s lair and… uh..

And then there’s Deidara. I believe their battle was one of the earlier ones since it is currently being aired in the anime. That means Deidara has been sitting in that puppet yelling his head off for more than a couple days… What a weirdo.

And this!

Most blood I’ve seen one a person for all this war!

Itachi still has time to do what now? Probably poke Sasuke in the head like the last time before he died. Maybe you can throw in a hug and another apology mmk? It would make your brother a little happier. Maybe. Iono, I’m just a fangirl.

I’ve come to a conclusion. After this whole Kabuto battle and all, Itachi made me realize this. Half of the ENTIRE Naruto series’ plot is Itachi just f–king up. He is the reason why Sasuke is the main antagonist and rival for Naruto, he is the reason why Danzo was able to gain so much power, and he is responsible for driving the plot farther. 2 of which he has done unintentionally.

The second half of the plot is Tobi. By impersonating Madara, he has formed the Akatsuki that has funded and used our first Antagonist, Orochimaru, the development of Kabuto, and all on top of that, he’s trying to take over the world.

Tomorrow’s Bleach post will be written by my anime-buddy, Ricardo.
